Technical Service Specialist (Houston Texas USA)

Job Summary

 Porocel has an immediate opening for a Technical Service Specialist – Americas at the  Houston Sales Office location to provide technical service to Porocel’s customers for the use of Porocel’s activated alumina catalysts, adsorbents (AdCATS) and hydroprocessing catalysts (HPC) and services.

 

SCOPE:

Responsible for directly supporting Porocel Products sales sold through our agents and distributors in The Americas.  Prepare catalytic and adsorption unit design packages and provide optimization and trouble-shooting support to Porocel’s current and potential customers.

Additionally, this position has the sales support responsibility for, and will work closely with, Porocel’s agents and distributors in The Americas making joint sales calls and ensuring that these agents and distributors are maintaining sufficient focus on selling Porocel’s products.

 


Responsibilities

 

1.      Provide product designs to Porocel’s customers (end-users) using Porocel’s proprietary design tools.

2.      Participate in joint visits to present technical data and offers. 

3.      Create technical offers including cycle performance projections.

4.      Provide onsite support at customer locations throughout the Americas. This support may require being onsite for 12 hour shifts for 3-14 days.  

5.      Provide unit monitoring and troubleshooting through the entire cycle for HPC products by data analyses.

6.      Provide interpretation of previous cycle performance and guidance on the suitability of re-using HPC materials based on analyses of spent catalysts.

7.      Actively work with Porocel’s agents and distributors to ensure that Porocel is being sufficiently represented in the marketplace.

8.      Attend conferences to interface with Porocel’s customers (end-users).

9.      Prepare and publish Sales Call Reports on a timely basis and in accordance with company standards.

10.  Provide recommendations for improving company relationships with agents and distributors.

11.  Provide input for the development of sales and marketing literature and preparing sales forecasts and budgets.

 

12.  Travel of 30% to 50% including International travel up to25%.


Minimum Requirements

 

·         Engineering or Chemistry Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

·         New grad to 5 years of technical and sales or business experience is required.

·         Oral and written competency of English is required.

·         Excellent organizational and interpersonal relationship skills are required. 

·         Good technical writing skills are highly desirable, as is a strong familiarity and competency with Excel.
